We are so excited to announce that we are bringing back a structure at WESS called "Caught Being Good!" Caught Being Good is a crew structure that celebrates students on the basis of our four core values - Compassion, Creativity, Wonder, and Resilience. For April, our core value is Compassion! We chose compassion to reflect the strong feedback we received from EL around our school culture.
Some of the anecdotes our teachers shared for why our students were "Caught Being Good" this month are:
- This student inclusive of all students whether they friends with them or not, and values their ideas and opinions even if they are different.
- They are always willing to share a smile and laugh with their peers, especially over a very tasteful pan of latkes that they usually would bring in for all crew gatherings.
- They light up the hallways by including others and making everyone feel like they belong — we are so lucky to have them! They have an amazing heart!
We will be announcing our students who were "Caught Being Good" this week (the week of May 5th, 2025), and celebrating the morning of Thursday, May 15th.
