Molly W - College Counselor

Molly was born and raised in Saratoga Springs, a “city” in upstate New York. Molly received her BA in History and MAT in Social Studies from Colgate University, where she was a member of the intercollegiate riding team and leader of the Utica Refugee Tutoring Group. After graduation, Molly moved to New York City and taught high school History in the Bronx for five years. Since the majority of her students were English Language Learners, Molly completed an additional certification in TESOL instruction at Hunter College to grow her teaching toolbox. Molly’s interest in helping students see the purpose behind their learning grew into a passion for helping students find purpose in their next steps after high school. Molly has worked to continue building the College and Career awareness curriculum at WESS through as well as develop relationships with a number of college admissions counselors and community based organizations. She is a member of NACAC, NYSACAC, and CACNY; all organizations that support college access. Outside of WESS, Molly enjoys testing out new recipes, reading science fiction, cheering for the New York Mets and Giants, and spending time with her dog, Sophie. She is excited to be a part of the WESS community and to support all students in finding the right “fit” for what comes after WESS!
